Abbey Hernandez is the Alumni Coordinator and a Job Skills Specialist at the Gateway Academy. After graduating from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor's degree in Education, Abbey taught for a decade in the Houston Independent School District before arriving at Gateway in 2022. 

In her roles, she supports students as they acquire the essential skills for their transition to life after high school. She also engages with former students and families as they continue to navigate the path beyond graduation. She is passionate about catering to all learning styles with an emphasis on project-based learning and utilizing interactive teaching tools.

In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and creating fonts.
