Brodie Simmons, LPC, LCDC - Director of Counseling

As Clinical Director of Advance Houston, Brodie works with neurodiverse young adults to help them better understand themselves and learn how to manage their own personal well-being.  He guides students through the process of honest self-reflection while creating an environment where they can hone their skills in communication and emotional regulation so that they can cultivate healthy relationships in their personal and professional lives.  Brodie also works alongside third party clinicians to coordinate the best possible care for these emerging young adults.

Brodie began working at Advance in 2021.  Prior to that time Brodie was the Clinical Director and high school Counselor at Gateway Academy.  He initially began working with Gateway in 2013 as a Choices Counselor, providing ongoing education regarding high risk behaviors in teenagers to the students, staff, and parents.  He has been working full time with the Gateway company since 2017 and considers Gateway & Advance to be among his favorite places in Houston.  Brodie also has a private counseling practice where he works with teens and young adults in the North Houston area.

In his personal life Brodie loves being a father to four amazing children.  He stays active with various physical activities, playing pick up basketball and men’s league lacrosse being his favorites.  Brodie has incorporated meditation into his daily life and continues his journey to better understand his own mind and how to improve his own well-being.  He loves a great book to read and is in the process of growing his writing hobby by working on his first book for Parents.
