As 9th Grade Counselor and Job Skills Specialist, Mrs. Grimes divides her time between providing support for 9th graders and teaching job skills to seniors. Before joining Gateway in 2022, she worked at a nonprofit organization facilitating crisis counseling with children and families. 

Maureen received her BA in Psychology from Texas State University (‘06), her MA in Professional Counseling from Texas State University (‘09), and her LPC in 2013.

Her professional interests include attachment, trauma, adhd, autism, and how to help students successfully transition after high school

In Maureen’s free time, she is currently checking off boxes on her yearly reading goals featuring books ranging from historical fiction, period pieces and adventures with dragons, hiking at various parks and trails around Houston, and playing board games with her family.
