As Middle School Counselor, Mrs. Grimes works with Gateway’s younger students. In this role, she leads weekly emotional wellness classes, offers in class support, and conducts one on one sessions with students. Before joining Gateway in 2022, she worked at a nonprofit organization facilitating crisis counseling with children and families. 

Maureen received her BA in Psychology from Texas State University (‘06), her MA in Professional Counseling from Texas State University (‘09), and her LPC in 2013.

Her professional interests involve applying solution-focused therapy, along with play-based and expressive therapies, when working with neurodivergent populations.

In Maureen’s free time, she is currently checking off boxes on her yearly reading goals, hiking at various parks and trails around Houston, and playing board games with her family.
