Paxton Leibold, MA, LPC - High School Counselor

Paxton Leibold has spent the last 7 years working with marginalized groups in different types of mental health settings, such as refugee camps, community health organizations, and non-profit organizations. After getting her masters in Denver, Colorado, Paxton transitioned back to Houston and began working with students with learning differences in school settings.

Since 2020, Paxton has worked under the Gateway Academy umbrella. She first began as the family and student support specialist at Advance Houston working with young adults and their families on emotional wellness. After a year, she transitioned over to Gateway Academy and became the upper school counselor. In this position, she teaches weekly emotional wellness classes, provides in classroom support and does 1:1 pullouts with students. She is currently getting certified in Attachment and Trauma with adolescents and plans on using the skills she is learning within her individual and group support at Gateway.

In her spare time, when she isn't spending time with her dogs, Paxton plays on an adult women's softball team and plays competitive pickleball with her friends and family.
